Hip pointer pain can be intense. Because the hip (or the iliac crest of the pelvis) is so close to the surface of the body, there isn't much padding in an impact situation. The result can be bruising in both the bone and surrounding muscle.

Hip bruises, and other bone bruises, are more severe than regular muscle bruises, and often take a long time to recover.

Hip Maintenance
